I am sure i2 solution may be taking an important role to improve business operation and performance to my current workplace as well as my past companies that I had contributed.

However, I want to say i2 Solution do not provide fundamental solution to fix or resolve our current issues that were described in this video as they do not mention like “RESOLUTION” but only saying “help”, “efficient”, “optimizing”, “automating”, etc.

My past experience says we need to focus on PEOPLE and their BEHAVIOR”/ “ATTITUDES” to make them learn properly and understand clearly what they are doing to make a better organization in terms of Supply Chain/Logistics perspectives.

Only after this, i2 solution is operated well by the right people and right place/organization.

This truck is running at half capacity which means another truck will have to take the other half. It’s wasting 350 gallons of fuel. It’s creating 50% more smog. And it’s blocking your lane.

 

This warehouse is way past capacity due to inefficient inventory planning. Thousands of bananas are rotting inside waiting to be shipped. The fruit files are having a field delay.

 

This guy isn’t it.

 

It’s their 4^th hour of overtime, for the 4^th day in a row. They’re waiting for a shipment to arrive so they can finish. The company is losing time, money and customers. This guy can’t remember what his kids look like.

 

5,000 bushels of wheat are now worthless due to faulty forecasting. It will never be sorted, shipped or enjoyed with a slab of butter. The wheat will sit, and it will go bad. Then it will smell bad.

 

What’s wrong with this picture?

 

Better forecasting can reduce less-than-load shipments.

Decreasing smog.

And pollution.

Not to mention traffic.

 

Optimized product planning eliminates duplicates and saves hundreds of acres of trees.

Automating the entire process and eliminating paperwork can save even more. It will also cut down on waste which eliminates the need for places to put the waste.

 

Global collaboration can prevent perishable goods from perishing. It will enable companies to work together and efficiently donate what they don’t use.
